Eligibility Criteria for MBA Admission in SIBM Pune

A student seeking admission for the Programme must be:

1.  Candidate should be a graduate from any recognised University / Institution of National Importance with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for SC / ST) at graduation level.
2.  Candidates appearing for final year examinations can also apply, but their admission will be subject to obtaining a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST) in the qualifying examination.

How to Apply : The Selection process is carried out in two steps

Step 1: Take the SNAP Test

• You need to register and take the Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test. This is a common entrance exam for all postgraduate programs at Symbiosis institutes.
• Find information and register for SNAP at https://www.snaptest.org/.
• While registering for SNAP, also register online for SIBM Pune by paying an additional fee (around Rs. 1000 + GST).
• Keep your SNAP Test admit card safe for the next step in the selection process. Scoring well on the SNAP Test doesn’t guarantee you’ll be shortlisted for the next stage.

Stage 2: Group Exercise (GE)

• Invitation: Shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in a Group Exercise (GE). This is typically a case-study based activity where candidates are placed in a small group and asked to discuss, analyze, and propose solutions to a given business problem.
• Evaluation: The GE assesses a candidate’s teamwork skills, communication abilities, problem-solving approach, and leadership potential. Evaluators observe how candidates interact with others, listen to different viewpoints, and contribute meaningfully to the group discussion.

Stage 3: Personal Interview (PI)

• Invitation: Candidates who perform well in the GE are invited for a Personal Interview (PI). This is a one-on-one interaction with a panel of faculty members or admissions representatives.
• Evaluation: The PI aims to assess a candidate’s motivation for pursuing an MBA, career goals, understanding of the chosen specialization (if applicable), and overall fit with the SCMHRD program. Be prepared to discuss your academic background, work experience (if applicable), achievements, and future aspirations.

Stage 4: Final Selection

• Composite Score: The final selection is based on a composite score derived from the candidate’s performance in SNAP, Group Exercise, and Personal Interview. Each component is assigned a specific weightage in the final score.
• Announcement of Results: Shortlisted candidates are notified of the final admission decision.

Important Cautions:

• Be very careful when entering information during the application process. Any incorrect details can lead to disqualification, even after admission.
• Always include your SNAP ID, full name, email address, phone number (with STD code if applicable), and complete address with PIN code in all communication with SIBM Pune.
• Regularly check the SIBM Pune website for updates. They won’t send separate notifications.
• Bring your authorized SNAP admit card to the online selection process (GE & PI).
• The shortlist for the online selection process (Step II) and the final merit list will be announced on the SIBM Pune website according to their published schedule.
